Graduate Assistant: Student Programming Coordinator
Reporting directly to the Director of Student and Family Assistance and Commuter Life (CommLife), the Student Programming Coordinator will serve as a multifaceted asset to the Division of Student Life and the university. This position will proactively work to increase the wellbeing of all students utilizing a social justice lens, with a special emphasis on commuters. The Coordinator will assist in creation of new programming and opportunities while having the opportunity to mentor student staff and build connections. The Coordinator will be engaged in a dynamic office that provides student assistance for commuter students.
- Help to organize mental well-being trainings for students, staff and faculty
- Assist in the supervision of the Commuter Ambassador staff with Director of Student and Family Assistance
- Assist in overall communication regarding the Office of Student and Family Assistance and CommLife, managing social media, email messages, website management, etc.
- Liaison with Commuters in Action and Yoga Club to help to guide opportunities for connection and well-being
- Facilitate student interaction by providing programmatic opportunities for growth, involvement in the Roger community, and engagement with various resources on campus
- Identify and review well-being resources on and off campus
- Work with department Commuter Ambassador staff to engage commuter students who are looking to get involved
- Facilitate opening Commuter meeting for new commuter students joining the community
- Demonstrate positive attitudes and positive actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, sensitivity, professionalism and adherence to confidentiality.
- Coordinate student referrals to appropriate offices for necessary intervention (e.g., Counseling, Health Services, CSAS, Student and Family Assistance)
- Work collaboratively within and across divisions on institutional priorities

Required Qualifications
- Must be current RWU graduate student
- Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies (and sign confidentiality agreement) when working with students and accessing student records
- Strong interpersonal, phone, and email skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Position may include night and weekend events
Must be a current graduate student at RWU. This role will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year.
May work 20 hours/week, paid at $20/hour up to $4,000 per academic year.
